Google Business Profile Optimization
Your Google Business Profile is often the first thing a local customer sees, sometimes before your website. I review and improve your profile so it is accurate, complete and aligned with how people search for your services.
Who this is for
- Service businesses that appear inconsistently in Google Maps results for their main services
- Businesses whose profile was set up quickly and never fully completed
- Owners who are unsure which categories, services or attributes to use
- Businesses that have moved, rebranded or changed hours and need everything brought up to date
What is included
- Review of primary and secondary categories against competing profiles
- Business name, address or service area, hours and contact details checked against Google’s guidelines
- Services, products and business description written for clarity and relevance
- Attributes, booking links and appointment URLs where applicable
- Photo and media recommendations
- A review-generation and review-response process you can run yourself
- A written summary of every change made
How the work runs
- Access and baseline. You add me as a manager on the profile. I record the current state of the profile and how it appears for a sample of relevant searches.
- Competitor and category review. I look at the profiles that currently rank for your core services in your area to understand what Google is showing and why.
- Optimization. I update the profile, or provide exact instructions if you prefer to make the changes yourself.
- Handover. You receive a summary of what changed, what to keep doing, and what to watch over the following months.
Things to know before we start
Google decides how and when profile changes appear, and some edits go through a review before they are published. Ranking in the Map Pack depends heavily on proximity to the searcher, so no one can honestly promise a fixed position. What a well-maintained profile does is give Google accurate, relevant information about your business and give customers a clear reason to contact you.
Profile work usually goes hand in hand with your website. If your site is weak for local search, a local on-page SEO review or a full local SEO audit may be the better starting point.
Frequently asked questions
Do you need my Google account password?
No. You add me as a manager on your Business Profile from your own account. You keep ownership and can remove access at any time.
Can you fix a suspended profile?
I can review the likely cause and help you prepare a reinstatement request based on Google’s guidelines, but the decision is Google’s and reinstatement cannot be guaranteed.
Do I need a physical address?
Not necessarily. Service-area businesses that visit customers can hide their address and list the areas they serve instead, as long as they follow Google’s rules for service-area businesses.
Want a second opinion on your profile?
Send me your business name and the area you serve, and I will tell you what I would look at first.
